Together with Franziska Wagner, we created a freelance ballet and dance photography series at the Palais Montgelas in Munich. The focus was on the interplay of movement, posture, and historic architecture.
Dance and Architecture in Harmony
The historical interior design was deliberately incorporated into the motifs. Posture, lines, and movement relate to the architecture and together define the composition of the images.
The series combines elements of people and portrait photography with the focus on proportions and spatial effects found in architectural photography. Franziska Wagner remains the center of attention, while her surroundings help shape the impact of her movements and poses.
Independent Photography Project
The project provided an opportunity to explore the relationship between the individual, movement, and the environment, independent of a client briefing. The goal was to create a cohesive series in which both the dance-like expression and the atmosphere of the Palais Montgelas remain equally recognizable.
