Caritas St. Jakob Retirement Home Lenggries – Architecture for Quality of Life and Community
We had the privilege of photographing the new Caritas St. Jakob Retirement Home in Lenggries for Sweco Architects. This modern care home accommodates approximately 90 residents and was built by Caritas Munich and Upper Bavaria with the aim of harmoniously combining architecture and quality of life.
Our task was to capture the clear, light-filled architecture and the well-conceived interior design in images that convey warmth and openness. The building combines modern lines with natural materials such as wood and glass, creating a pleasant atmosphere that radiates tranquility and security. Spacious common areas, bright kitchens, and friendly meeting zones foster community and demonstrate how architecture actively supports the well-being of residents.
Particularly impressive is how the building combines functionality and aesthetics: barrier-free pathways, large window areas, and well-thought-out color concepts ensure orientation and light quality throughout the entire building. The connection between indoor and outdoor spaces – with views of the Lenggries mountain landscape – also gives the home an open, nature-oriented atmosphere.
This project illustrates how good architecture goes far beyond mere design: it creates places that welcome people.
We would like to thank Sweco for their trust and are delighted to have contributed to the presentation of this pioneering construction project with our architectural photography and aerial shots.
