We documented the new Caritas St. Jakob Nursing Home in Lenggries through photography and video for Sweco Architects. The nursing home accommodates approximately 90 residents and combines functional requirements with bright, open architecture and a home-like atmosphere.
The project included interior and exterior architectural photography, as well as drone footage and video. The focus was on the design of the spaces, their use, and how the building fits into the mountainous landscape of Lenggries.
Light, Materials, and Shared Spaces
Natural materials such as wood and large glass surfaces define the building. In the common areas, kitchens, and gathering spaces, we have combined floor plans with perspective views that showcase the interplay of natural light, materials, and furnishings.
In doing so, we focused on precise lines, natural proportions, and a realistic rendering of the lighting atmosphere. The photographs were intended to clearly convey the spatial qualities and capture the cozy character of the interior.
Orientation and Connection to the Surroundings
Accessible pathways and well-thought-out color schemes are key components of care facility architecture. In this photo series, we showcase these elements in the context of the adjacent rooms and common areas. This helps illustrate the layout of pathways and spatial connections.
The large windows offer sweeping views of the Lenggries mountains. Through carefully chosen vantage points, we have highlighted this connection between the interior and the landscape, bringing the home’s natural setting to the forefront.
Outdoor photography, drone photography, and video
Exterior views and drone photography complement the interior shots by providing a view of the building, the property, and the surrounding area. The aerial perspectives show the building’s structure and how it fits into the Alpine landscape.
In addition, video footage was produced to showcase the project. The combination of photography and video offers a variety of perspectives and media formats for architectural communication, the website, public relations, and project documentation.
