For this project, we photographed downtown Munich from a helicopter. On a clear autumn day, we captured high-resolution aerial photographs in warm light and with excellent visibility.
Among other things, the series features the Frauenkirche, Marienplatz, the Theatinerkirche, and the Hofgarten. The focus was on these landmarks and how they fit into the surrounding urban landscape.
Historic Architecture in an Urban Context
From the air, the relationships between buildings, streets, squares, and green spaces become visible. The elevated perspective connects individual landmarks to the cityscape and shows historical architecture and modern developments in context.
The photographs complement traditional architectural photography by offering a wide-angle view of the site, its dimensions, and its surroundings. The autumnal light enhances the visual impact of the roofs, facades, and open spaces.
