We documented the new geothermal power plant in Holzkirchen for the architectural firm Ferdinand + Gerth and Gemeindewerke Holzkirchen. The photographs capture the striking wooden architecture alongside the technical nature of the facility and its integration into the surrounding environment.

“We won first prize in the public vote for the 5th Rosenheim Wood Construction Award 2020. Many thanks to everyone who participated and voted for our project. We are delighted with this success and would like to once again express our heartfelt thanks for the support and collaboration of the Holzkirchen Municipal Utilities, former Mayor Olaf von Löwis, Mr. Robert Wiechmann, and Dr. Dorsch, who actively supported us in preparing for the competition.”
Wooden Architecture and Technical Function
The project combined architectural photography, industrial photography, and drone footage. This resulted in a variety of perspectives on the building and its location.
Audience Award at the Rosenheim Wood Construction Award
In 2020, the project won first prize in the public vote at the 5th Rosenheim Wood Construction Award. Our photographs were used to promote the project. The competition poster was designed by Patrick Huckert of the agency wh4 Design.
