50 Years Munich Olympic Attack

February will commemorate the murdered police officer Anton Fliegerbauer. A photo of Fliegerbauer will be projected onto the building of the Police Headquarters on Ettstraße in Munich.
Furthermore, on February 22, there will be a “Commemoration Event for Anton Fliegerbauer” at the Fürstenfeldbruck Police Academy, featuring lectures on the history and police lessons learned from the Olympic attack. Speakers will include Ulrike Bergheim from the Fürstenfeldbruck Historical Society and Police President Thomas Hampel.
An event by the Bavarian University of Applied Sciences for Public Service – Police Department in Fürstenfeldbruck and the Munich Police Headquarters in cooperation with the Fürstenfeldbruck Historical Society and the NS Documentation Center Munich.
Twelve Months — Twelve Names | 50 Years Munich Olympic Attack
January — December 2022
50 years after the Olympic Games in Munich, the Olympic attack of September 5-6, 1972, will be commemorated throughout 2022. Each month, one victim will be at the center of the remembrance. Various interventions in public spaces are planned, ranging from installations that will be on display throughout the month to one-day actions.
The remembrance project is conceived and coordinated by the Jewish Museum Munich in cooperation with the NS Documentation Center Munich and the Consulate General of the State of Israel. Implementation will be carried out with cooperation partners such as Amerikahaus, the district of Fürstenfeldbruck, the Deutsches Theater, the University of Applied Sciences for Public Service in Bavaria — Police Department, and the Munich Police Headquarters, as well as other cultural and educational institutions and other interested parties.
